It was An Honest Mistake (AHM)

Wake up this morning with this stamped on my arm. A token of remembrance of what happened last night. Among one of the things i regard as the things i must do before i grow old. Well, it's too bad that i'm already too late.

Yes boys and girls, last night was the first gig i ever attended. As no other previous gig experience to compare, i would say AHM performance was really awesome. It was amazingly memorable and superbly fun. Although it could be much more better if i haven't had the 'am i too old for this?' feeling throughout the event. Trust me, if only i was at least 3 years younger, i would be headbanging jumping around like a hyperactive madman high on sugar.

Just so you know, the initials AHM stands for An Honest Mistake and the gig was for their debut album showcase. Here's a bit info taken from their facebook page.

An Honest Mistake, consisting of 6 talented musicians, is one of Malaysia's latest sensations to hit the music scene.

The dynamic rock band writes and produces their own music, already generating hit songs like 'This Song Is So Random, I Don't Know Why' and 'The Snake With Limbs'. Fusing metal and hardcore with poppy choruses to make them unique; the band is definitely something to look out for!

In 2009, An Honest Mistake rocked the house down at many popular venues such as Laundry Bar, Urbanattic and The Library with their electrifying performances. They have also played prestigious stages such as the Selangor Music Festival and Rock The World 9. An Honest Mistake is also VIMA's 'Best College Act' and was nominated for 'Best Sunshiny-Feelgood-Song' in the 2010 VIMA Awards.

Come the new year, AHM is churning out more singles to delight their fans. With great music and determination, An Honest Mistake is set to take 2010 by storm, so watch out for them!

Had my discovery encounter with AHM during RTW9. This previous post mentioned that during RTW9, i got stranded under some backstage tent with some stranger due to heavy rain. I do remember it was with one or two of their band members and some other people of course. At that time, there was a long awkward silence among this group consist of strangers. That's when Leonard Chua (LC) introduced AHM which initiated a small talk among us. At first i seriously thought LC had this kind of nerdy rockstar wannabe appearance. Hence, i paid no heed to their performance and ran off to go watch someone else at the main stage.

Not until last night, after seeing the entire band member and the listening to the sound they carry, it came to me that they might be one of best punk rock band this country ever had (this might suggest my lack of knowledge about the local scene). And again, LC at the backstage entrance, being the ever so friendly person that he is, didn't hesitate to make a welcoming gesture and introduce himself to a stranger's face such as mine. During delays, he did a good job working his charms keeping the crowd in the right tempreture. And also as the lead guitar, LC sure worked out awesome guitar work earning extra points in the showmanship department. Which kinda made me realize what a hopeless first impression sense of character reading i have. I blame his clothes during RTW for that. It was an honest mistake after all. :)
